Re: Re: Purple Purse

Yes but I do have an interesting story about one of my great uncles.  I will post it tomorrow.  I just got home from hospital.

Re: Purple Purse

If you growl about them, maybe he means growling with you as an expression of support and love for you.

It is wonderful when parents and grandparents make sure that stories and histories are passed down.  I also wish I had more connection to where I came from.

Re: JimmyA,

Some people think that being cynical is an adult thing.  It isn't, of course, it is the thing of an adolescent who has not yet forgiven the world for being a disappointment.

It seems somewhat apparent that this woman may not have had anyone of importance in her life pass away. How is that possible? Is there ice in her veins? My dad passed away ten years ago, and I feel its affect everyday! People just don't think before they speak ( or write ) I suppose . . .

I wish I had been able to get and keep all the real history of my parents lives.  I miss them and wish I could give my kids more of them.  I even get a little sensitive when Joe is insulting them.  He never knew them.  I  can act like  moma bear.

A wise response you came up with there.

I do like your comcept of losing an elder from our villiage. My parents died over 20 years ago but they live forever in my heart. I doubt that a day goes by without me thinking of them and something good comes to my mind. Like knowing their unconditional love for me.

Well I guess folk feel more strongly about losing their cat/dog than they do about any so called celebrity. It is an inborn survival mechanism. If we were dragged down by every tragedy we would not last long. Some may be more sensitive than others, but the perspective of grief has its limits for the majority. Limits by definition that are varied.

.Of course there are always the poor souls who have extended boundaries.Well that's probably what I think teacher.
