Thanks, Vermont. Fun and clever, that's what I strive for . . .

Re:

Good for you, Annicita. I'm sure you were. But some people actually do get so caught up in the oddity of the second tale they forget about the first. At least the dog came back to the bus . . .

 Very clever.

Re:

I have a feeling, adnohr, there may be many humorous 'cross-tales' like these. This was always one of my favorites, having actually heard this a long time ago! Keeps people guessing, and laughing . . .

Re: JimmyA

Only if he managed to actually swallow it, Sir Wiley. That would have been a sight to see as well . . .

Re:

That's true, Bill. No one can eat a brick, and no one can construct a building out of pickles. Or can they . . . ?

Re: This could get deep...

But not too deep, strat. Sometimes games of subterfuge can be fun. It was a simple memory test, with a comical twist, nothing more . . .

Re:

See, Kabu? Odd tales such as these can get your mind racing in all sorts of directions! Yes, it would have been somewhat ironic if that pickle had landed in the exact spot that lone brick might have been supposed to go! It also would have been a sight to see that dog trying to then retrieve it . . .

Uh, oh, FSI. In which direction was your mind going? C'mon! This is a family-friendly site! Let's keep it clean . . .

Re:

They do make small bricks, C C T, but probably not for constructing massive buildings. And I've seen some dogs put several tennis balls in their mouths at the same time, so a brick probably isn't much of a stretch, so to speak! And yes, our pickles are quite large. Well, some of them anyway . . .

Re: Jimmy

That's probably true, Krisles. I just hope that poor dog didn't break or lose any teeth biting into that brick! And I'm also quite sure that a brick isn't going to be as tasty as a pickle, even to a dog . . .

Re:

I believe you, lustor! Some people do guess that. But the point of the second tale being so lengthy and involved was so people would forget all about that brick! Strange but true . . .

Re: Jimmy

I suppose, Naut, that could have happened. But it seemed the contractor and foreman were as thorough as possible! At least they weren't hungry and in desperate need of eating a pickle . . .

Haha! That reminds me of the pink ping pong ball joke that went around when I was in high school. Strings us right along...

i thought the pickle was going to find the hole where the brick should be and drive that crazy dog even more bonkers as he tried to get it...Oh never mind.

LOL. I have a dirty mind.

Well that dog must have had a big mouth Jimmy or do they make small bricks in your county? Looks like they make big pickles.

Jimmy

Well, of course it was going to be the brick or there would have been no point in your putting the two stories up!  Besides, what else but a brick would a weird dog who went so bonkers over a pickle bring back?

I actually was going to say the brick but you probably dont beleive me

Jimmy

Pressed the wrong button the first time, LOL.  Anyway - no I had not expected the dog to bring back the brick! I had expected the building to collapse as soon as the wind picked up because they forgot to put the brick in a critical spot, LOL...
