I prefer the well behaved pooch.

dogs are like kids they have to be told no once in awhile.  I have a very hyper dog that acts crazy sometimes.

TAPS, I agree totally with adnor. This is not acceptable and I would tell her. A Boxer is an awesome dog when trained to behave in an appropriate manner. I did not know about your sister. I am so sorry. I know she is in heaven and happy but that does not keep us from feeling sorrowful at their absence here with us.

No. My dogs were shown that this kind of thing was not allowed. I totally agree that dogs have feelings but, like children, they need to be taught certain limits, respect of others being the most important. Your friend is not only hurting herself, but also her pet.

perhaps you should have her come to your house instead of you going to hers

Fine, and I am very happy for her to have a doggie to adore...but perhaps you can say gently I cannot take this . It is too much for my ...Back?//or hip///or whatever comes to mind.

Well, those doggies mean well, and are probably not aware of how unappealing their slobber can be! However, I suppose the opposite would be worse! If he doesn't try to take a bite out of you, you're in good shape . . .

I don't appreciate doggie slobber either, nor the humping some feel

they must do.

Owners of ill-behaved dogs bug me. Poor Boxcar. He's going to be labeled a "bad dog" because his owner won't set boundaries. I don't visit people with bad dogs. When they ask why I don't stop by anymore, I tell them, "because you raised a rude dog."

TAPS

I know what you mean - I don't like it either! And Bennie wouldn't do that to you...

Oh, and the guy knows damn well what that sign means...
