Sounds like he was the one who was inarticulate!  Some people can only feel good about themselves if they can find something wrong with others to match how wrong they really feel inside....so they pick everything apart.  You really don't need to please everyone, just the ones who truly matter to you....next time you find yourself feeling this way, ask yourself if that person really matters to you.

therre are always the Jack's of the World ....you will have grown through this nasty experience....I too hate unfair criticism and I too don't react very well to being disliked.

You're probably right. One of those 'life's lessons' it usually takes many people a while to learn is that you just can't please everyone, nor make everyone your 'friend.' Of course that doesn't imply to make someone your enemy, even accidentally, but you've got to draw the line somewhere . . .
