Of course Taps when the cut off date was nearer sixty, people just wilted away not having to endure all these pains and tribulations. I had the cramp in my ankle I thought I would be sick with the pain. All these little things are the price we pay for not kicking the bucket.

The cold weather does take a lot out of people. Harry James, who is eighty-three, is really having a tough time with his knees.

Wiley has the same problem and because his blood is kept so thin his fingers freeze in the cold even wearing gloves. Sometimes the only thing that works is a hot shower and clean dry clothing and he is fine.

Poor thing! I do sympathize - it's terribly cold here as well! When I took the doggie for his noon walkies, I even wore a balaclava - something I very rarely do! But I have no problem staying warm enough out there, and I'm quite comfy in the house! If you have a problem getting warm in your place, you may have to turn up the thermostat...

Spring is coming, Taps. Your sap's just slow and dormant now, but
you'll leaf out again in just a few more weeks.
