A lot has changed in warfare over the years. PTSD, though, has been the one constant.

It is a facinating story to tell and i hope I can achieve it. I have been working on it for four years and it is the research that takes up so much time. I have had to go through many documents and letters. My poetry has helped me express what I think would have been his thoughts and delusional outbursts.  I wonder how many young men would be able to survive this as they did today. you guys keep my confidence up. Thanks

I actually knew two old men from WWI . One could hardly breath at times having suffered from a gas attack. The other walked around chewing mints and buying shoes laces. I expect there would have been many more but some were shot for so called desertion and many more just blown into the mud. Thank you Spid for bringing this memory back. My grandfather was killed and his widow did not receive any money for weeks.

How many suffered. how many used the drug of choice to forget ...drank until the anger released itself in violence. How many still do.
