I agreee - neutral is the way to go. But sometimes it's damned difficult to stay that way. Your last comment reminds me of a T-shirt I saw on Facebook: I am a writer. Anything you do or say can be used. Or something along those lines, LOL

LOL....so the day wasn't wasted which is good and yes You are so smart...keep out of their love lives but always have a shoulder for them when it all goes South. Poor Josh, he must wonder if he is coming or going.

One or two break-ups should be sufficient to let a couple know they're probably not compatible! Yeah, 'neutral' is the way to go. The last thing you want to do is get in the middle of someone else's rocky relationship . . .

The path of true love is a bit crooked perchance. Poor Mum, just as you were hoping to
hop onto the back of the bike and ride into the icy wind. I suppose it is nice to see him happy.

'Adopting a position of neutrality' is the only sensible position to take in 'matters of the heart', LOL! It's the one I have adopted many moons ago and will never give advice, unless the guy/gal tells me the 'significant other' might be an axe murderer, in which case I always suggest to call the cops...
