Interesting.  I do rinse my mouth with water from the bathroom tap when I am brushing my teeth.  It hasn't poisoned me yet.

See? Even silly animated shows can reflect real life . . .

Seems that it's time to change  the water pipes delivering to the sink. That may be an old house with lead pipes instead of copper, but if the pipes are copper they can corrode too, just needs an upgrade to new 1/2" pipe methinks.

Well, I never thought about the fact you're not supposed to drink hot water from any tap because of the stuff in a hot water tank....someone told me that just recently.

Makes no difference at my place - but the kitchen sink is usually closer...

Well if your system is like a good many the bathroom water comes from a tank in the roof it can be covered over if one is lucky or it can be open with a dead mouse or pigeon or at the least if covered frowsty bits of debris. The kitchen sink water nearly always come directly from the mains. Our water is doused with a chemical to reduce tooth decay      . We always filter it to remove the lime. Tell your Sis not to clean her teeth using the upstairs water if it is tank fed. Good way to get a tummy bug I would imagine.
