I am happy you found your hearing aid, I have 2 and never wear them, they're more a bother than a boon. Good if Arthur builds you a new puter. I have a small 10" Dell with XP here I'm not using which I will send you if Arthur can turn that into one with a new Windows other than XP. The thing is like new Bro.Let me know

Re:
Ha ha, read this comment Adnohr does a research scientist ever confront reality? At least when he builds them I know I am not getting cheap parts put in to keep the price down.

I'm ntot so sure an ear trumpet would be easily found, a not a pretty one
anyway.
Yes - let him have a go at the computer. Then if he does go, at least you'll be good for awhile. Don't let him read this comment, please.

Re:
Yes Jimmy it was like that with my first one. One would have been better off with an ear trumpet. Don't see many of those around now.. Easier to find though.

Re:FS
Well when he builds one he uses the best equipment FS. He has built about six and two for me they rarely have any faults and the wires inside are really tidy. Yes I am as honest as I can afford to be.

Re:Pat
Yes they were pricey a few years ago but that one would have worn out by now.
I think a decent one just for one to one conversation would cost £500 so if you could get one for $100 dollars or one twice as good for $200, it would be a good buy. Some are now very discrete, the only trouble is losing the darn things.

Re:

Naut well really H.A's are very discreet . My brother Patrick who thinks he will live forever had one on the National Health. It is like a small snail and he does not use it very often he also has a VLSW.

Re: Krisles
A lot of probs with hearing relate to exessive noise in earlier days. I always wear ear muffs now with machinery, too late really. A post is a post come what may.

Good one! I don't know why folks are so adverse to getting hearing aids! I feel a post coming on..... And I got a kick out of the one about old lovers; so true!

Glad you found your hearing aid! My LSW thinks I should get one, but in my case it's just a matter of selective hearing - a very useful condition, LOL...I would take Arthur up on his offer if I were you - bit of a recompense for constantly bitching about smething...And as to the old love birds - yeah, I guess when the fire has died down, a hot water bottle does come in handy, LOL...

I've been thinking about getting tested again for a hearing aid.
Several years ago I did so, the guy told me it would cost $5,000 - but I could go to a crowded restaurant and hear every word. I decided against the purchase, told him if I bought the hearing aid I couldn't afford to go to restaurants. But this new insurance plan had a blurb about being able to get a hearing aid for $100. Might be worth it.

Your hearing-aid tale reminded me of an old pun . . . A man is telling his friend he has a new hearing-aid. His friends asks "What kind is it?" to which the gentleman looks down at his watch and says "About 2:30." Glad you finally found it . . .
