I remember hearing of Furbies, but don't think I ever saw one in action. And I love the idea for a story! As I think about it, I have to a lot of c/s reps that I would swear were robots who just kept repeating/reading mindless scripts for all they were paying attention to what I was saying....actually, that pretty much sums up lots of conversations these days as people keep one eye on their phones on the table or in their hands as you try to have a conversation with them..or they have you on speaker phone as they work on one or two other projects in front of them.

actually it was the eyes you talk about on those Furbies that freaked me out. I think I would love a face more like a big loveable golden retriever doggie.
We sure weren't much help were we..I like the name the Volunteer for the next book though.

I don't think I've ever heard of those Furbies, but it sounds like it was a good idea, especially after the story you relayed. As for that last part, it sounds like the disturbing plot of a very bizarre sci-fi movie! I like it . . .

I remember when Furbies were all the rage. I want to say that it was 1997. There was a concern that spies were leaving valuable information accidentally on Furbies.

Great new idea. LOL
You could pull it off in a grand manner--good as Stephen King any day.

You could model the story around those who attend suitably disguised of course. Good thinking Pat. Perhaps he could be a reject Ferbie and displayed funny reactions.

You'll find the right title, I'm sure! And Furbies - I suspect my Bennie's reaction to them would be much like yours and, being less restrained, things wouldn't go well, LOL...
BTW, I've tried to answer the question you put to me the other day, in 'Thoughts'...

Now there's a great title for that story! I've have yet to see a Furby. Can they be trained to do accounting, I wonder?
