Well I don't ever remember crying until I was an adult. I once was a amazed when I saw my dad cry over the loss of his father. As one grows older one loses inhibitions somewhat. There is one type of crying that is hard to achieve, I think it is different to normal weepy eyes. This is a deep sensual emotion and seems to relieve one of some kind of trauma, I wish I could describe it, all I can think of it seems strange and yet at the same time one remembers the taste for want of a better description.

Strange concept. I actually haven't cried since my dad passed away ten years ago . . .

My sister has done that with some of her antidepressants. One made her eat a lot, she she stopped for that reason.

Re: Justi

I "stepped" down off the Zoloft....and it was while I was fully on the Zoloft that the falling was the problem....I went through that experience twice with that medication...well, with antidepressants, period....there just seems to be something about them, maybe in combo with my heart and b/p meds, I don't know.  Anyway, like I said, I really don't think they help with the head that much anyway and they cause the balance issues so I'm happier w/o them and if I remember to catch my "child" before she's off and crying out of habitual behavior, I can control it....learned behaviors are just carved into us like eyebrow placement on our faces.  Thanks so much for caring.

Did you go off Zoloft cold turkey? Maybe a lower dosage would have prevented the crying and would have allowed you not to be dizzy falling a lot. You know women do not do well without being able to cry some anyhow.

Nice post.  Tears are definitely for a purpose.  Without them....what would life be like?
