Is Pat right? Is it smoke and mirrors?

Nautikos you are too kind; I don't know if it's intuition or observation....to me one has to be blind not to see it - or more likely, lost looking at Vine videos!  Of course, that's how I felt about his qualifications to be elected so that's what I know!

As to your right to speak up about our President...isn't he often referred to as the "Leader of the Free World" or somesuch?  Well, there you go!  Seriously, of course you have the right in this inter-related world ..but, most specifically, as a Canadian in terms of security since we share a border, language and are far too intermingled for there to be any question about your being involved and interested in anything that happens in this country....and that is that!!

Ah, Naut... between you and Corbin I'd expected a whole 'nother

"reason" - one that begins prior to the latest round of Gulf Wars, includes Pres. G.W. Bush, photos of him early in the 21st, shortly after 9-11 - holding hands with the Saudi royals, in what seems to be a long-term bond based on something nobody's talking about. Pres. Obama's diplomatic side step to attend the royal Saudi funeral is right in line with earlier events.

It's more than oil money, which seems to be the plausible deniability angle of this story. It seems to me there's something going on that nobody's talking about, something that bridges oppositional ancient traditions. Given that our species' first instinct is survival, I'm wondering if this US-Saudi closeness has something to do with that. And the Taliban, al Queda, Isis, etc., the uncoordinated violent flare-ups - these are side issues, perhaps smoke and mirrors to hide what's really going on. There were bread and circuses to distract the people back in the days of Rome, etc. Perhaps I'm wrong.

As always, interesting comments from your readership...I feel that is the reason wy Obama cut short his trip to India to go to King Abdullah's funeral...I do not know enough to comment on his religious beliefs...A great metaphor Krisles came up with.

naut

i read your blog alot and not because i knowledgeable about the subject but you keep me somewhat informed.  i use to get upset sometimes, years ago, if i did not agree with what was being said. now i cant seem to get upset about anything or even begin to guess why things are the way they are.  my days now are filled with finding out who i am, before it is to late, and taking care of my martins, lol. seriously, how awful would it be to leave for the winter and to come back to find your home gone and no safe place to have your children.
