Well, I guess we all could use a change of scenery from time to time. It couldn't hurt! And you're right that it's only money, but that does seem like a somewhat unfair scenario. Any chance of your neighbor helping out with the cost? After all, he was the one who broke the line, even though he was helping you . . .

Well I can't see that it would be worth taking insurance out for such an odd chance. Make sure you do not trip and break your hip, tell your sons , they would probably give you a few dollars, you have given them enough in your time. Or sell something, I don't think this is about money Jean. You have been treated badly, and it is not human nature to just accept and pretend it did not happen. Yes have a cry, but don't let it break you. Perhaps the phone company would let you pay a little extra each quarter. Tell them you need it but can't afford to have it mended . They will not want to lose a customer. I would tell them you will have to use your mobile otherwise.

Ah Love of course you need to cry. After my first divorce I had a couple of real melt downs and money was involved each time so go ahead and cry and be damned to brave smiles...you will feel so much better after; while you sip cofee, tea, or a glass of something ...Everyone wants to see you brave and getting your life together but sometimes, and when no one is watching crying is good. Sending hugs love and understanding.

A change of scenery does sound intriguing.
