At least the geese don't worry if the ice gets too thin and breaks under them - in fact they'd welcome that...

They look so gracious but they look very funny when they slide along too.

When I was a child we used to have roast goose now and then.  Then my mom would use the goose grease and add linemint or turpentine and use it as a chest rub for us when we had the croup.  I've never cooked a goose.
