                Most of the time I would think no. Whether they're left-handed or right-handed, these players know their swing, know their comfort zone, know their style, and there's probably very little a hitting coach can do or say to really alter that. Other than pointing out possible errors when they're in a slump, like FSI said, I think the bulk of these players on pretty much on their own . . .

                I do feel that a hitting coach does have an impact on a team. Even the best hitters in the world are going to go through slumps, and the coach often has to find out why and get the player to make the necessary adjustments.
