It would upset me when I was working with homeless people who were hungry, and certain restaurants would refuse to hand out food, throwing it in the garbage instead, attempting to keep the reputation of 'always fresh'.I agree that there is far too much choice now - and it incites waste. Chocolates at half price? That I could deal with!

I don't mind carols, as long as they're well sung...

Re: We used to operate on the "waste not, want not" idea, re-using clothes

Funny how ideas change Pat. A slice of bread tastes good when there is nothing else. I think there is probably too much variety and upset tummies.

Re: Taps

Yes I think of things and then forget them. Of course it is like chatting over the garden wall in a away.

A lot of stuff in this post of yours makes me think of things that I could write about in a post of my own.  The thing is that by the time I was ready to write another post, I would not remember what in your post piqued my interest.

I have had that concern with some doctors I have come across. Fortunately, we could understand one another.

Another day in the life . . . Yeah, here in the states, we too waste a lot of food, things getting thrown away because the powers-that-be can't figure out how to pass it along properly. And don't even get me started on non-English speaking nurses and other medical aides. We're overrun too . . .

We used to operate on the "waste not, want not" idea, re-using clothes

through the hand-me-down process, sniffing the food to make sure it wasn't spoiled. Seems these days it's 'when in doubt, throw it out.' I suppose we had some tummy upsets from someting on the turn from good to bad - these days it's the growth hormones and pesticides in the food itself.
