Love the wise old Owl keeping watch by night ...to me it represents the Shepherds tending to their sheep when the angel came....love the tree.

I really hope a lot of people share those sentiments, regardless, like you said, of their faith . . .

Re: Naut,
I don't know how wise the owl is... but has quite a lot of patience! It's the only bit left over from last year. That's because we seem to have lost the box of ornaments.

Re: Pat,
I know what you mean... but I will recommend a book to you, by Thomas Crum: THE MAGIC OF CONFLICT. It is an application of the concepts of Aikido to other kinds of interaction. He points out the need for conflicting forces to create beauty, like the wild waves on a rocky shore.

Re: CCT,
Our trees are different every year! That's part of the fun. Charlie bought several sprays of gold leaves, and cut them all apart to hang them individually.

Oh, the tree is so beautiful! I agree that the owl is particularly spectacular....I've never seen one atop a tree like that and love it; but I have a thing for owls anywhere.

Lovely sentiment, and a heartfelt wish for peace.
What would we ever do without disputes, propaganda, conflice? (we could relax)
