Re: Wiley
Yes most flowers in Supermarkets are foreign Bro, a job to grow them in winter here but we have had a good run this year. Don't forget to give your Babe a hug from me.

Scabious sounds like a disease Bro. LOL and interesting to hear of Thunder Snow, never heard of that and I live in snow country. Interesting to read of flowers being imported to sell, we are all going to have other countries to live in soon, everything is coming in here from elsewhere too.

Re:
Actually it hit Scotland Jimmy. I did read that it caused 200 million in damages, but how that is worked out goodness knows. When economy tightens flowers are are luxury.
However I sometimes just stand and watch people pick up a couple of bunches at £8 a bunch as if it is nothing. Yes the canary is on a piece of string attached to a stick.

One wonders how they are grown so perfectly Justi, I like to give nature a bit of leeway.

Yes Pat it is a job to get excited over a row of cabbages. I did like cooking once, but my brother likes doing it better than I do.

I haven't done any digging in years! For some strange reason my LSW likes it - and she's welcome to it, LOL...

I think raising your own flowers is like doing your own cooking - your
work and the expectation of a reward makes it more artful and spirited. Much more satisfying than picking up a dozen blooms at the market along with a take-out chicken.

Oh those roses flown in from who-knows-where don't even smell. I love the old garden varieties of all flowers. You be blessed dear one.

Yes, even over here, there aren't too many florists around since, as you've said, certain supermarkets and various chain stores now carry various flowers. And we did experience some of that 'Thunder Snow' recently. Quite frightening, and bizarre! Since the storm was heading East, I guess it finally reached Britain! I hope your canary returns to you with no problems after his 'fly around' . . .
