Comments on Torture and Slavery…Part II

Nautikos

I have this sort of primal belief that in any society where brutality rules as the common denominator, women will always eventually come down to property simply because of the simple biology of hard versus soft - dominator versus incubator - etc.....I don't know if I made any sense with that....but sometimes when I read/watch The Hunger Games, etc., and I see that sort of reverse civilization as a very real possibility....well, I get kind of bummed for my three granddaughters and all those little y's to come because I don't see us getting so many starring roles.  It's just not the way of nature.

Of course, there are loads of wonderful, enlightened, fully engaged men who know that we are all more complete - simple and complex at the same time - when we complement each other......but that seems to only happen in a civilized world - the one we (the human race) has come so close to achieving...and yet seems so intent on f'ing up with our petty drives to be king of the mountain and to prove that we are right in our beliefs.  Those drives always seem to take blood.....women come to the fore in a civilized world, and operate in the background, taking care of surviving and keeping the family going....any way they can....when they live in a world of torture and slavery.

I have no doubt they are sincere. That is one of the very reasons  I am a devout Christian. This sort of belief they have an practice is so truly worship of Satan. He is real and his job is to kill, steal and destroy. If this does not fill that bill I do not know what does. The requirement of God is love. I choose love.

Oh, well. Here we go again . . . I'm still going to call these people 'crazy,' although, as you've said, they are simply being sincere to their faith. However, I remember years ago, someone telling me that, regardless of the circumstances, sincerity has nothing to do with it! Hitler was sincere! That didn't make him 'right.' Be that as it may, let me check my calendar again. Well, what do ya know! It is 2014 A.D., and not 1000 B.C. For a minute there I was confused . . .

Well of course one does not agree with many of the answers Naut. Although I suspect there are women in an equally wretched position all over the globe only they are not called slaves.
