Re: I love these stories. I keep thinking if they were on TV, they'd have
Might be a bit too tame these days Pat perhaps in fifty years time. Like Dad's Army. I'll have to see what develops in the Face Book saga. I don't know where to look that's the problem. I did tell Archie I would ring Janie up and pretend to be a Chinese man asking for her famous pickled eggs, did she do exports?

Yes they would Ciel but I just could not stand the aggro. No I can see her marching up to confront the perpetrator. I think Archie was amused he said that I was going to print pictures of it for Christmas cards.

Re:
Wouldn't be much of an encouragement to shop there again FS. Unless I forget in a year or two,

Re:Jimmy
Good thinking Jimmy, thankfully the store I use normally is pretty hot on correct prices.
It was just niggling that nearly everything was priced higher.

Re:

Well I have done that with this store once Naut but they seemed so dopey it took nearly all morning before it was sorted. Yes they will get over it, they need each other, it makes a difference.

CCT
I've had similar experiences at our supermarket, and I do go back, on principle! Sometimes the money I spend on gas (that's 'petrol' to you) is more than I get back, but that's not the point...And Janie and Archie sure have their problems, haven't they, LOL...

Believe me, your scenario in that supermarket isn't really all that unique. That's why, when my wife and I go grocery shopping, I use my cell phone's calculator ( rounding everything off to the highest dollar ) to get a general idea of the total once we get to the counter. I'm usually within a dollar or two, plus or minus. If their total is way over mine, then I know something's wrong! I will say something . . .

Yeah, that is sloppy of the store not to have the registers programmed to match the advertised price.

I would be surprised if the store would not make a proper adjustment
and without much fuss.
I agree with Janie, no one should have posted her photo without permission.

I'm thinking Peter O'Toole for our CCT--except O'Toole is no longer with us.

P.S. I hate it when I feel the store has deliberately cheated me.

I love these stories. I keep thinking if they were on TV, they'd have
Dame Judy as the never-quite-attainable romantic lead, and someone very distinguished playing title role of poet/playwright/master gardener. There'd be an almost romance - they'd flirt and exchange "if only" comments, but after tea Dame Judy and Sir CCT would go their separate ways - she to tend to her kitty cats, he to adjust thermostats in the greenhouse and settle a debate between Arthur and his Mrs.
