Younger people today, ALL my kids included, are just not what we were to our olders and betters, I understand your hurt feelings. Whatever would she do if you said; "I don't wanna be your MIL"!!!!!!LOL

Things are different now (including proper etiquette) than they were in our day. I decided might as well get used to it cause I'm way outdated.

Well, at least you had some roulade to help ease the sting - it certainly sounds good!
There seems to be a whole generation of people who have forgotten that some news should be delivered in person before it goes on social media...there are some moments in life that should be special enough to share face-to-face.
