Re: Pat
Yes Archie has one he keeps grumbling about the rooks building nests in the chimney he poked a brush up one to keep them out, but one has to be careful or the mortar falls down. My dad was not much good at maintenance but the uncles could do anything.

Re: Jimmy
I like to put one fly on there to make it authentic. I'll have to get Arthur to make me one he makes a lot of fishing flies. I like to look after the lifestock, used to be 3000 hens,

Glad you're taking good care of that kitty, especially with the colder weather coming on. At least Old Man Winter will do away with those flies once and for all! At least, I hope he will . . .

Nice to top off the post with a lovely flower, this one (photo) will not
fade in winter's chill rain. I think the 200-year old houses with their horsehair mortared walls and chimneys sound cozy, even though they seem to have their challenges with unwanted water, backflows and etc... I had a house like that once. Also grew up in a family with a need for handy uncles and cousins... Love the 'flavor' of your verses...

Re:
Yes Taps even small bushes can send down roots into drains an ideal source of moisture and if one kills the roots they can still clog the system . The Water board has a kind of rotor type cutter but I expect it depends on how thick the roots are to be successful.

We used to have lots of trouble with the drain in our big old house where we raised our sons. It was basically tree roots growing into the old-type tile sewer drains but it sure made a stinky mess in our basement at times when we had to call Rotorooter. Finally Rotorooter wasn't enough and it cost us a fortune to hire plumbers with a bobcat to dig up the yard and lay new sewer pipes.

Raining here, no frost no snow Bro.
Love the way you care for your animals, she has a better bed than I do. Warm blanket underneath and all.
Love your Winolem, never thought of that when I was a drinkin' man.
I remember my unc Joe fixin' a chimney with mortar and horse hair.
Enjoyed the poem of the Family, I grew up in one of them. Well done Bro.
