This is a great one! I never experienced any of this kind of chaos firsthand growing up since I was an only, but I certainly observed it....and the various methods of dealing with it in different households....and now I've watched my daughter with her three heathens......gah! It's like that saying I once heard about how God made babies so cue so their mothers wouldn't kill them......

Mum knew a trick or two, it must be harder now one must not hit a child. I still remember a cane on my legs for doing something really stupid.

Mom's wiles - LOL. Our Mom's favourite 'weapon' was the 'tactical headache', hauled out and put away again at a moment's notice...And to be reminded of 'India's starving children' may well be universal to the entire species - I just wonder what mothers in India are telling their kids...
