George has never eaten persimmons and he brought me one. It is definitely notready but I have eaten them when they were and they are wonderful. Oh those poor kids who took a bite from you and your sister. loll.

The only ones I've ever had was a Japanese one, and they were always ripe! I wouldn't mind at least trying an unripe one, just for Captain Smith's experience, LOL, but they don't grow around here...And Ciel really likes her persimmons, LOL...

I love a good persimmon!
I've seen the Japanese persimmons in stores. 'Tis said they don't have that alum effect even if not perfectly ripe, or maybe it's that they are ripe when they don't look ripe. Either way, I haven't taken the chance.
