Although I don't consider myself to be an 'old man' yet, I will buck the trend and say I would do almost anything to make myself comfortable, without compromising anyone else of course! And hey, if they can make that deadly spray for fake flowers, why not fake spray for the real ones . . . ?

I think Archie was thinking of keeping himself warm when visiting Pat, rather than the comfort for the old chap. I suppose he keeps him going with wood scraps. Always buy some warm pants or lined slacks and a big snow coat ,but I expect you have those.

Well Jean the forecast is icy we usually get a follow up from cold winds if it is harsh in the USA . At present the sky looks full of rain, but I might just do a little bit of digging before the frosts come.It is too wet for the rotovator and the soil breaks down nicely in the frost. Glad you are doing OK.

those are beauties and i like yellow roses better than red. not kabu here, but i think leopards dont change their spots, once frugal always frugal. women do know how to share better as a rule, there are always exceptions to every rule, but they do not change their spots either. one would think as we grow older that we know that we do not take anything with us so we might as well enjoy and have a few comforts. of course maybe he just does not have enough money to go around or if he does maybe he wants to leave it to someone. i think it is nice to know that there are good people to help us out when we are in need. but then there are those that will take advantage too.

Something about yellow roses that just brings good cheer to the heart.
Thank you for posting this photo. Good to take the coal to the older duffer, bring him some comfort. It may be that old women also begin to spend less than they need to. You can only wear so many shoes in a week, and high heels can be dangerous.
