And one of my DIL's hates me!!!!! J==Sheesh!!! That is terrible. Just awful you poor little girl. I have never boiled a Turkey...an old chicken perhaps for soup...but I like to roast my Turkey and it is really difficult. One has to get it just as the legs are tender enough to start to separate from the bird but before all the breast becomes dry. What a witch to pick at a little girl like that.

Re: FSI

There was no one like her (I found out after we were married).  She was the baby of her family, youngest of nine and sickly in her youth.  She quickly learned to play that for all it was worth and spent her 95 years bossing everyone around.

I have a few yearly things that I swear up-and-down that I will not do again, but with the passage of the year I feel as good as new and up doing it anyway, repeating the process again... It sounds like you had one critical mother-in-law there.

Boiling a turkey??? And where in hell does the Velveeta come in??? I completely agree with Ciel: the whole thing is gross! As to your MIL - well, sometimes silence is a sufficient comment...

Oh, and before I forget: would you please read my post in 'Thoughts'?

"You boil your turkey?"

"Velveeta... seriously? Gross!"

Useful responses, years too late... but one can dream.
