Well we mustn't talk about Slaves or burning old ladies with dementia calling them witches. Or the racks used to covert folk into a certain religion. I think probably some have always been cruel to minority groups Naut. The ones who did not give a monkey were probably struggling to find their next meal.

Great response to my response....
I would quote Rodney King and say "can't we all just get along?" but we're not, it seems to me, getting kinder or gentler despite the lessons of time. And I really did mean I fear there's something genetic going on, a breakdown in our DNA, a pathological shift...

For me the written history of the World shows always war and rape and death. A 50 year period of peace is vitually an unknown. For me we have come nowhere...all we can do is kill each other in bigger numbers and quicker.
My way or die....I think that is as much a part of the human existence as is compassion and love.
