I have never harvested honey in my life. i buy the little honey bears at the health foods section of our grocery.

Yum - and honeycomb! I think I mentioned that my brother and I spent a year staying in a foster home where we worked to care for the bees and do the honey gathering. It was some experience.

It will be interesting to hear how the bees have performed this year. My cousin had a colony set up home in the roof of her house. It is against the law to harm them, so a bee keeper is going to climb onto the roof an suck them out with a special vacuum apparatus. I don't know about the honey.

i agree about the real woman in the white house. and no we are not selling yet. we have only one hive of bees and we expect to get maybe a gal and a half of honey. and we are all big honey eaters.....we use it instead of sugar in food and cooking. and ice tea is delicious with it , as is hot tea.
