You could always close that bank acct and open a new one with only your name...or if they won't do that since his name is on it you could take out everything but the minimum and open new acct with that...good luck!

Glad a few things are coming together for you. Dance lessons? Sure, why not? And I think my wife and I saw that same Fred Astaire movie ( "Swing Time" with Ginger Rogers, right? ) Good movie, and good inspiration . . .

Yes I should try and think of yourself more. You are bound to feel sad, because a part of your life has been torn away. You really are a nice person because most would have been extremely vindictive. Sadly being a nice person is sometimes deliberating. I had a similar experience recently, not a divorce of course. It was something to do with a sibling, I could have easily become outraged. I chose not to make a fuss, but I must confess I have a compressed feeling which I know is subdued anger. However I know it was possibly the right course to take. Although it does not feel like it. We are only human.

I hope you remembered to open another bank account for just your money - with nothing tied to the mortgage and his name? Just in case.... Work does help, but be careful not to run yourself too hard. Take some relaxing time too.
