Characters need their own voice
But make sure the editor remembers, without you, these characters would not have a voice at all.

I had to take a lot of the Australian coloquialism from "Tom Ugly" so people could understand it but as you know I kept some ther to keep the authentic flavour...give my story some reality juice.
