So did I, TAPS, so did I! In fact, I remember not only switching from a pencil to a pen ( oh, boy! High tech stuff! ), but also typing out some homework assignments when I got older. I honestly can't imagine how things would have been for us had computers and printers been as prevalent back then as they are today . . .

Re: The dog ate my homework

What really sucks, Bel, is when you give the teacher an honest excuse . . . and they still don't believe you! I once actually set fire to my homework ( accidentally of course ) and had a heck of a time convincing my teacher of the truth! Flushed down the toilet? Yeah, tough to sell that one too . . .

How true about the homework paragraph.  I'm one of those who did it with paper and pencil.

The dog ate my homework

Nope...but my little brother did flush it down the toilet once.  I still haven't gotten even for that!

Re:

One spiked-pudding, coming right up, adnohr! So what 'proof' shall we use? 50? 75? 100? Alright, let's not get carried away. We don't want to pass out in the kitchen now, do we?

I'll take the pudding...with the proof....

I'm not sick, Kabu. My sense of humor may be a bit warped, but writing these out and sharing them is probably part of my therapy! Glad you liked them all, hip grandmother . . .

Re:

Thanks, FSI. I can only assume that non-chess players probably wouldn't get that one, or at least fully understand it . . .

Re: Jimmy

I think I did too, Naut! Some Indians have no sense of humor! No, a Wizard ain't gonna help me in that incident! And hey, that squaw could always join a support group called "Chicks Without Cheeks" . . .

Jimmy

LOL! You'd better have one of 'em Wizards weave you a coat of invisibility! After I finished reading that last item, I could suddenly hear the unmistakable sound of knives being sharpened...
