One of my most favorite autumn signals!

I remember a family story occasionally recounted:

On a drive through Virginia, they saw a road sign that said, "Plant Crossing" and my mom's first thought was that it was a warning about Virginia creepers.

Oh how beautiful. My Virginia climber does not turn red, it just goes brown. I guess we are warm until frost and it is just killed before it has time for color change.
