My father had his right hip replaced five years ago. A week from Monday, he gets his left one replaced.

Unfortunately, stuff does wear out or gets removed as we get older but hey, we are still here!!!!

I guess I'm lucky - the only things I've lost so far is my appendix and a few teeth. (Actually, I was robbed of my appendix when I was twelve, and there's a tiny tale attached to that event, LOL). The teeth? Hey, these day you can easily buy better ones...

When Charlie's dad was in recovery from his knee replacement,
he said he had to remind himself now and then that he'd volunteered for this. Eventually, the recovery was accomplished, and he's very glad he had the replacement.
