I'm really not sure what you mean by an "Ugly American" food, unless you mean "All-American " food, which I guess, to some people, is the same thing. Let's just have a cheeseburger and call it a day . . .

For some time now I've had rather different ideas about 'fun food' than the ones usually associated with that category...In short, I no longer eat 'fun food' at all, if we except ribs, hamburgers, wings, pizza and ice cream...

Off the top of my head, I cannot think of any ugly foods that of which I enjoy. Now most Baltimoreans love oysters. Those are ugly.
