I can write while on a high after a win - no problem! Not so sure about the low after defeat, although I could probably express my outrage at the referees quite well if need be.

Well, I'm not an artist. But speaking of writing, I agree with JimmyA. If you're not in the mood, don't force the writings to come out. "Written by force" stuff almost never ends up as interesting/succeeded stuff.

Actually, a musician I know told me a long time ago:

"As soon as you start working creatively as an ordinary routine and without the being in the mood for it... Take a break."

Just like an artist ( which I used to be ), it's all about mood. If you try to write something . . . anything . . . when you're actually not in the mood, you may end up with a mess, and not convey what you were really trying to convey. You're probably better off spending that time either enjoying your team's victory, or lamenting their loss. But don't lament too long! Tomorrow's another day . . .
