Thanks for the answer, Naut. I'm just curious, is all. I like Spiderfly's comment.

Very interesting points here naut, we should condem cruelty whether we are believers or not. Perhaps all religious books need to be rewritten so people who take them so literally can follow the good bits and drop all stuff that turns them into control mongers. People have no right over others unless it is to protect them from harm. I believe I should have the right to live my life in peace and free will without worship but love and compassion for all who live on this earth. I have no interest in stories that happened years ago and no wish to live by the rules they set out. Religious beliefs have caused so much war and hardships and it is still going on. A very good friend of mine is suffering animosity at the moment from the relatives of her boyfriend because they are living together. You could not have a nicer person, she is kind, loving and will do anything for any person, she does not believe in committing herself to marriage legality neither does her boyfriend, unlike his relatives Who seem to believe she is living in sin. Please explain what the sin is here where two people love each other. It is time that we stopped hiding behind religion and looked toward our own values not ones written in the past That we think make us righteous.

Excuse some spelling mistakes and error creeping due to my hasty reply .
I just tried to share my feelings as it would not have been proper to avoid your invitation. Thank you for drawing my attention to certain things I had not known. I like an open debate ofcourse with an open mind and heart. Please excuse me if I have been too passionate in my approach.

No debate No argument just think and talk of peace my dear Nautikos
I am sorry if I have misled you to think that I am against your views on Islam or I don't approve of it . Every person has a right to feel and opine on a subject according to his information and ability to judge things objectively. There are many reasons for seeing things in differently by many people and it would require years to debate and solve those issues misinterpreted and misunderstood by passage of time. I can only pray that things should be understood in its proper perspective and not beyond its scope. All those chapters and versus quoted by you my friend had been part of revelation coming forth in the backdrop of certain conflict with non-believers who had tormented the Prophet and attempted to kill him for spear heading a religion which came with an ideology to abolish idol worship and bring about a revolution and to demolish many feudal practices prevalent then. I can only request you to read the Holy Quran with an open heart once from begining till end covering all surahs in sequences as it is compiled and accepted by the entire Muslim world. My dear friend you have a right to say what you like and find fault but you should also look into its wisdom where it is. I think you should restrict yourself to condmening and attacking the political people who are using religion as their shelter to fulfill their evil desires as it has always been and you will find in plenty examples of battle held amongst religious enitities in Spain and in Turkey to exercise control over the coffers of public treasury in the garb of protecting religious sancitity one religion from another. I was not trying to find fault with sunni Islam or eulogise shia practices but had said that the division was created because of certain vested interests that had political motive to divide and rule mankind by using and misusing an ideology to hurt mankind instead of helping to bring about the change that God always wanted either through Holy Bible or through Holy Quran or for that matter by any other revealed book. We should condemn cruellty everywhere if are true belilevers of gosple.
