Re:
I'll have to try that -- but fire ants, as near as I can tell, eat absolutely anything. And sugar ants are even worse. oh well....

Ha! Never thought of that, but it would certainly fall into the Southern guy's lexicon!

Bleah -- me neither. Downside of living down here on the coast -- giant saddlebred roaches, lots of skeeters, and of course, zillions of ants. But I suppose that's to let us know this actually isn't heaven...

I've heard that ants ( as well as most bugs ) are not fond of citrus. A diluted mixture sprayed lightly at the possible entry points may do the trick. And just out of curiosity, what do the Yankees have to do with all of your angst? There's no baseball in Antarctica . . .

What ghastly affliction! I'm happy to say that we up here in the Great White North don't get those monster ants! Mind you, we have carnivorous ice worms, but most people can outrun them...

the thought of all those missiles spinning out of control just because some angry man lit a fire in an ant mound has me giggling so much i cannot like your other fans, think of any smart retort. Such ant-ics send my mind to mush. I am so glad you are back.

I saw a Lego kit for one in the window of the thrift shop. This is a major chain.

Re: Another great use for duct tape!
sticky side up.
And speaking of ant trails, I once saw trails made by some tropical species of ants that were grooves in the earth half an inch deep. Talk about persist-ant!

Another great use for duct tape!
I'd try laying it across any ant trails and see how fast it slows down the traffic.

I am not a fan of bugs...of any kind
We have an earwig issue. They make me crazy. I also have BAD allergies so sprays, etc... send me into coughing fits.
Diatomecous Earth. GREAT pesticide safe to human and animal in food grade. (do some research it will get rid of those ants for you).
