they use a pump to bring the water up....so yes they need electricity

we are so electricity dependent. i'd hate for it to be out for days during or after a storm. hope that never happens. prayers for you go up pretty lady.

When we lived in our big house, we had a pipe freeze once in a cold winter. When it thawed the water filled the basement up to knee level. That's when we found out there was no drain becausethe sewer line ran half-way up the basement floor. We had to install a permanent sub-pump for any future necessity. That was a mess to clean up.

oh don't mention mopping up water. LOl. We are at last getting the basement fixed.
sounds like being in Greece to me. One can never understand why and how things happen.
