Re: Adnohr

Yes Adnohr folk cannot afford pets as they age both of them. It is sad really because very often it is a buffer between loneliness and a bit of company. I don't know why these charges are not investigated. On the other hand a lady vet  who treated a dog of a friend

came and dispatched it free, of course it had been treated before and that is never cheap as you well know.

Re: Re: Re: Kabu

True Kabu although inflation has been low for several years in theory , but things keep going up especially in the food line. I notice a price has something knocked off ,but then it is the price it was a week ago.

Wow - things seem really expensive over there. The charge for an animal here is according to the weight - the bigger the pet, the more expensive, but that still seems to be a hefty charge! About 550$ Canadian dollars - which is at least twice what most Canadian vets would want. How terrible for her and the dog.

Re: Re: Kabu

I know how expensive your pound is....and I cannot afford to go there anymore.I lose so much on exchange but then a pound buys one nothing anymore.

Re: A

I'll ask him A . I did not know he did that trick until recently. I bet he had a drink or two beforehand. I think the drinks are included in the package.

Re: Ciel

Yes Ciel I think around 65 pounds would be a fair price £20 for the chemical and the rest for the vet. If he had to dispose of the remains perhaps another £50. Older people cannot believe that they would have to pay so much, at least more than two weeks pension.

Re: I could not afford a rack of lamb, seems very pricey. Nice that you have

Meat is expensive here Pat, I rarely eat it as we have had a few scares in recent years.

Not like the old days when Mum would cook an Oxtail, that was great in those days.

I think if on can find a place that a plant likes it is half the battle. A weed is not choosy.

Re: Wiley

I know a man who did that and then Bro his conscience made him try a rescue with fatal results. His dog was adopted,

Re: Kabu

I know Kabu my S.I.L has a window that will accommodate Orchids, but I am not too partial to those. Don't worry Dearie Archie would soon have it in his freezer. If Justi reads this a £1 is today worth  $1.66 .In other words one gets more dollars for a pound.

Re: Justi

I have just looked it up Justi 469 dollars . That sounds a lot of dollars. Time was slower in your Mum's time no doubt. I am afraid I don't spend a lot of time with them.

Re: Taps

I can't remember having it either Taps, but I went off lamb a bit when some were born with less than four legs.

Re: Jimmy

Well it certainly sounds good for you Jimmy. She sounds like she is a most caring person,

But we knew that already from your former blogs. Be Happy.

You sound a bit like my wife, in that she never likes to give up on any tree, plant, bush or flower that has even a remote chance of surviving. She may transplant it to a new location, try a different kind of food, water it more ( or less ) and pretty much do whatever she has to to save it, most of the time successfully! She would be the same way with an animal. I never discuss putting an animal 'to sleep' with her, regardless of the costs . . .

I have never bought, cooked or eaten from a rack of lamb.  The little white paper decorations are too daunting.  LOL

C.C.

I like this newsy post so much. How much is the 300 you said for putting the dog to sleep in Dollars? I am afraid I have to add to my ignorance list anything to do with foreign money of any sort. My Mom loved and easily grew African violets. I never fooled with them they took more time than my children. Have a blessed day!

posted by Justi on August 24, 2014 at 7:58 PM | link to this | reply

I love African violets but only once had that perfect window to sit one near and get the flowers I love.

If lamb is so expensive, tell Archie to go as Mary who had a little lamb...and when it grows up he can sell it to the butcher and make a fortune.

I could not afford a rack of lamb, seems very pricey. Nice that you have

a green thumb and can rescue the plants others might toss.

I suspect the costs that some vets charge

when they know you have no reasonable options. I suspect a lot of animals suffer because of it, and their companion humans do, too.
