Lauren Bacall was so talented...Many bloggers here have touched me as well.

I think some of you guys do feel genuine pain at the loss of these talented people.

In a way it makes me feel a little bit sad, but I don't know if it is because of the sentiment shown by you guys. I do remember when Hancock took his own way out,

it seemed a real shame, I loved that comedian's work.

Wow! We've lost Lauren Becall too? This is the first I've heard of this. And to be perfectly honest, I really thought she had already passed away ( it's sometimes hard to keep track of everyone ). Yes, she was a great actress too. But I have a feeling I know what may happen; her passing will probably be overshadowed by the death of Robin Williams. The same thing happened in 1977. Three days after Elvis Presley died, we lost Groucho Marx, but his passing was completely overshadowed by The King's departure! I hope that's it on the celebrity deaths . . .

Bel Marshall

öIt’s emotionally significant in my life cycle for a loss of a celebrity that I was too young to see her contemporary but I appreciate her period. And we do have positive input from bloggers on this site  love. BC-A, Bill’s RRRst

Re: I did not know about Lauren Bacall. She was a class act in real life

She was a hell of a lady Pat.  I got into old black and white movies because of Bogie and Bacall.

Pat, you have been a source of both support and encouragement all these years and I am truly better for it.

Re: Bel

Naut,

I was pretty happy to see many people responding to people magazine and giving them hell for publishing the details of his death.  Most felt we did not need all the details.  The initial reports stated he died of asphyxiation and anyone with a drop of intelligence could put it together.  I did not need to know what implement, etc... had been used.  Finally, we as a society are realizing that all the details are not always our right to know.

Wiley

Having dealt with PTSD myself, I know it's a battle but it is one that you can win.  My prayers are with you.  I love you both as well.

I did not know about Lauren Bacall. She was a class act in real life

and a marvelous "dame" on stage. We were lucky to have her - as for Robin Williams, I am deeply sorry he's gone. A bright light has gone out. I wish science could find a cure for depression. And Joe Love. Oh, yes, I think of him once in a while and wish he could have stayed longer. But you're back, delightfully back. ♥  I'm happy to hear you did the NaNoWriMo thing...

Bel

I am not given to worshipping movie actors, actresses or 'celebrities', but I make exceptions when they touch me and affect me - and Robin Williams was one. (Another one is Sophia Loren, if you want to know.) Lauren Bacall was also a great actress, and I remember her fondly, but Robin William's death really affected me. And I was appalled at the way CNN was delving into the gory details - tasteless and disgusting...But I am glad that way back when, in those difficult days, I was able to give you a little bit of support...

And here we still love ya, you brought many moments of love and friendship into my PTSD world back then when I was having a lot of psychotherapy, and now going back for more. Kabu and I love you as one now.

Re:

Kabu,

My youngest brother came into town this weekend from Chicago.  I haven't seen him since I visited him in January and he commented that I look 10 years younger than the last time he saw me.  Happiness does have it's marvelous effects.  Most people are stunned that Pam is not mine biologically...LOL!  She has my attitude as well.

What a lovely Post and yes, there are people that I miss from here. Some very special and clever people. It was one of this weeks big joys for me to find out what has happened in your life and to find it is good and happy and you have a wonderful love and so does your daughter...actually you and daughter could be Sisters.

Robin Williams has touched me in a way no celebrity has since John Lennon was shot. I stayed in bed that day, just could not get up.Laren B. was one of the truly greats, but at 89 I am sure she was tired.

Thank you for this post.
