Well there was a rumor here that they gave a bit of a spur to a bit of 'How's yer Father.'
Perhaps they did not need it in your neck of the woods.

I told Arthur to roast some when he cooks lunch, to try them frozen after a day or two.
We have had them in a kind of mush with tomatoes and odds and ends, Arthur cooks lunch, I hunt and gather. Always nice to hear from you.

Re: Re:
No never ate lambs tail in my life...actually I don't know what Dad did with them. Little girls were not allowed near the yards when Dad was tailing lambs and turning little rams into Weathers.

Brilliant poem - you have a unique way of saying things in your verse, CCT.I love red bell peppers too, and like the others freeze them until needed. The moon was beautiful all weekend - I watched a jet plane flash and sparkle as it passed in front of it - awesome!

Re: Red bell peppers!
Good idea Ciel I have lots of options, of course they are a relatively new veggie for us.
Well housing will be cheaper up Manchester way I would imagine. In this area anyone with a large garden is more likely to sell the garden for building. Once prices fall they sometimes reveal bargains. I always regret not buying a little Cottage up the main street for 4K probably make 170K today. Trouble was I did not have the cash.

Re: Taps
I know I have to go back and re-read a comment very often , thinking of other things we all do it. Good news about the peppers.

Re:
OK Kabu, I'll try it seems a pity to waste them. I suppose you have had plenty of lambs tails.

Re: C C
We wondered if they would freeze Justi, I assume under the dryer would work, I know you have a larger one than I have, but I could do that. Thank you.

That is an idea Naut, I'll see if Arthur will cooperate and do the pickling. Do you know last night the moon was out for a while and it was so bright I could not look at, never seen it like that before.

I remember steak and kidney pudding fondly, and roast beef too, of course...And I'll tell you what I do with red peppers (of course I don't grow them, I buy them, LOL): I blacken the skin on the stove or the BBQ and take it off; then I chop them into large pieces and pickle them in a fairly mild pickling brine...And I love your 'Mooning-the-hunt' poem...

It's always good to get some rain, but you never want Mother nature to overdo it! And now I fully understand why my wife is a vegetarian! Not one of those 'meat dishes' you named sounds appealing at all . . .

Oh I do love that beautiful purple dahlia. Yes when I was little the meat and table feast was very different than now. The very thought of those delicacies is nauseating now. I really liked this whole post so much. The poem was a grand read. As for the peppers I freeze them all the time. Wash gently, cut, seed and let dry completely place them in very large freezer bags and just pull them out when needed. I use them with chicken breast and a light cream sauce over pasta.

Oh yes...I love red bell peppers, raw, cooked, pickled, anything. And, they do freeze well if you remove the seeds first. Whenever they are on special, I buy more than I can use immediately and freeze the excess.

I started reading this post hours ago and got side-tracked because I went off too look up trotters and faggots and forgot to come back. I love that flower...and I've forgotten what else I was going to say. I've got a really short-term memory these days. I'll have to go read your post again to refresh.

Red bell peppers!
We like em roasted or grilled or fried up with chicken or pork or... anything! We also like to slice them long and scoop up cottage cheese or any other kind of dip. They are much better and better for you than potato crisps or corn chips. When they were a good price here, I bought several and roasted them, then put them in the freezer to add later to other dishes.
Good to hear that about the housing market, since my gal and her husband will be looking to buy a house in the next two or three months.
