It is complicated being a member of the Commonwealth. Too bad when George Washington came to Montreal and asked us to join in the war of Independence the Quebec/Catholic Church said no.Otherwise we wouldn't have always been treated as second class countries, Canada, Australia and News Zealand etc. My brother's remains should be buried in Canada not in the British War Cemetery in India or Pakistan where he is now buried. That's why I served in the R.C.A.F. and as we always told the Limey's, we put the 'C' in there to hold the R.A.F. together. Also I feel the same as you over cell phones and I love your 'normal' blue telephone love.

Unfortunately, between the land-line phone and the cell phone, those are your only choices! Unless you want to pick up an old-fashioned walkie-talkie set, you're going to have to get better at remembering to charge your cell phone more often . . .

My LSW and I both have our own landlines, and I'm schlepping my cell phone with me all the time...But until fairly recently we also had a phone which looked like a really old-fashioned one, though instead of turning the dial you pressed the numbers! It was kind of fun, but confusing even to us, LOL...Eventually it gave up the ghost and we tossed it - I should have taken a pic...

Yes I have two like that Taps and people keep saying stop shouting, I suppose they are used to those tinny little instruments which I carry mainly encase the car breaks down.

I did not know much about Canada's involvement either until reading Wiley's associated entries...It can be tough to keep up with everything that is going on with one's phones.

I just love that telephone...Mine was just a boring old white one...white...with boys around? more like a grubby brown. LOL. We were talking about Wiley's brother Michael this morning. I believe he has been Wiley's guardian angel ever since he was shot out of the air.
I love this idea of yours. You write a letter but it is also a post.

I'm thinking some cave men were suspicious of fire and didn't trust
the science of cooking at first. But somehow it does NOT seem necessary to my survival to adapt to magic phone technology no matter how it twinkles. And now it seems email is going the way of cave painting - nobody (?) does it when there's texting and insta-touch mind reading implanted thing-a-majigs for 411-ing 24-7...

How many kids below a certain age
even know why we talk about 'dialing' a number?
