I have had characters name themselves...Meredith in a happy ending little christmas story I wrote ...and I have a book needing editing some day...a Welsh princess ....14 th century I think and her maid is named Mably....she named herself and took a bigger role than I expected.

Interesting observations. I have often wondered to what degree names have an influence on a person's life. I knew a Greek chap once whose name was Socrates and who suffered as a result, because he was not the sharpest knife in the drawer...On the other hand, there was another fellow whose last name, at first, was Schicklgruber; had he remained that, I doubt very much that he would have become the dictator we know as Hitler...
