There's a trick to the proper hip-sway... has to do with keeping your toes pointed forward instead of outwards. There, now when they go wriggling by, you can join in.

Yes well life is like that A young girl in the Supermarket was walking wriggling her bottom and she met a college who started doing the same. The started laughing when they saw me. Although I said carry on girls.

Blackbirds and pigeons? On the back porch of the house of Son #2 this morning was a very large peahen with its pretty headdress pecking on the glass door wanting to come inside. The little ones (Megan and Ryan) were so fascinated by it. He took a video of it but it has privacy settings on it that won't let me share it.
Your poem is so good. I love it.

Oh that is so cute. It was funny and I enjoyed it very much. I could see ours trying to do any dancing. LOLL. When I say ours I don't think I can see me doing dancing.

Or, in my case, the Can't Can't. If I tried it, I'd probably dislocate my hips.

I would prefer that you drank good old H2o for the cramps but Tonic water should help no end. You don't need to thank me.

It sounds like the blackbirds prefer your brother's strawberries to yours! Could there really be that much of a difference? I'm not sure if you should be thankful, or jealous . . .

It's been years since I've gone to a dance, although it used to make me
very happy to do the waltz and two-step and swing. CCT's bit today about dancing at the old folks' home was bittersweet fun - songs I'd never heard, but they don't cut much of a rug when they're getting round with canes or walkers.

Dancing like we used to...
I remember 30 years ago at the Seattle Center's weekly Seniors Dance, watching the elders dancing waltzes like they used to. There was even the occasional fad dance, like the Charleston, done by some of the sprier folks.
I am now--and its all your fault--imagining today's elders dancing the dances they remember from youth, flailing about Frugging, and making a wreck of their spines and various tubes, Twisting...
