There were very, very few teachers back in my day that would have had the same rapport with their students as you had with that teacher. You're lucky. It could have been worse, and been the other way around! I remember actually hating certain classes and almost refusing to go . . .

You really are tolerant of others and are a great guy. I would have been one of the grumblers because I had so much else to do, I needed all my spare time for work and being a Mum and study and those extra hours i could have been in the library.

Yes there are good teachers FS I sadly confess I did not experience that situation. If one has not got the knowledge it is difficult to impart substance.

I still feel that you should go back and get your degree my friend, you deserve it after all you've written about it. Heck, if I went back to get my high school at night at age 55, you sure can just go back and get it with your smarts.
