Here too the weather is very changeable, unusually so for June! And because we've lost all the trees from the boulevard on our street, our  bird population has wdwindled as well - very annoying. And yes, adnohr's loss is sad...

It seems that the weather this spring has been tough on gardens.

My garden is so drenched, the flowers have bowed their heads in submission and my peonies about to bloom!! Sigh!! They are bent to the ground. !! Wish Charlie best of luck from Auntie Kabu and keep away from Elephants with pink toenails. They hide in the strawberrie patch.

I don't think I have ever heard it stated so well as your last sentence, Ciel. Maybe that's what makes it so difficult when they go. Thank you. And I hope Madame sallies back with some young 'uns in tow.

Re: Pat,

There is nothing more heart-breaking than to be the one who has to make the decision for a pet's easier exit. But at least the sadness is not about having failed to do the right and compassionate thing.

I can just see the faire, with the elephant at the end of the parade!

We finally got a bright and sunny morning, and the weatherman predicts it will be mild for today's Route 66 festival. I'd thought it was last week, but I was in error... So many things to deal with when you have pets, and the worst is always when you have to let them go. My kitty's been gone 20 years, and I still see her sometimes at a distance.
