No, no one has nagged me either about eating my food while it is hot. I eat at my own pace regardless, thank you very much! And the U.S. probably treats the poor like you or I might treat an itch we can't reach: try your best to ignore it for as long as possible and hope it goes away . . .

My parents had to nag me to eat food when I was little...Not many countries truly care about their poor I am afraid Bill.

Nobody has ever nagged me to eat food. For me, I find that it is the opposite, people nagging me that the food is too hot to eat.
I would say overall the poor in this country are not treated well. One example is the schooling system.
