                Once I saw a grower in Holland he pushed a cane down six feet into soft peaty soil, lovely grub. Not a lover of concise bedding Bill too boring unless it belongs to some one else.

                Soft, of course. Hard usually means dry, and not a heck of a lot is going to grow in hard soil . . .
