Sadly it seems things have changed so rapidly once one had to plan for a decent pension and now we must plan for a few years beyond that, not so easy as it appears. One never thinks of being really old until the time comes. At least your group are tentatively exploring possibilities Pat.

I wouldn't be able to afford another place, but Kabu and I have each other so we should be able to keep looking out for one another. You need help c'mon up here and we'll look after you kiddo.

She is very positive and sounds a caring person. However I personally could never afford to pay for that sort of care, and of course one would still have to wait to get into a facility of choice. They never have an empty bed for more than as long as it takes to clean the area and make up the bed. Last year when Wiley was so sick they told me there is a two and a half year wait to get into anywhere. but not to worry me being a nurse I could take care of my husband.

An important issue! As we're experiencing a demographic shift where the proportion of the elderly and aged is increasing everywhere in the West, having adequate housing and care available is paramount...
