It depends on you who you ask. If you ask a Cubs fan, it is winning a championship. If you ask a Yankee fan, it is repeating.
As an Orioles fan, I find winning a championship to be harder.

Yes, defending a championship is much more difficult than obtaining a championship, simply because, as defending champions, you now have a huge target on your back, and everyone is gunning for you! Extremely tough to repeat, in any sport . . .

defending it I would think. Winning if you are the underdog you have nothing to lose and the fans don't have the same expectations. Besides one is a year or two older, may be past their peak.
